An Update

Hello all,

As you may have seen, the plan was to discuss The Enneagram of Belonging by Chris Heuertz at our Online Enneagram Meetup (June 2020). I also recommended the book in one of my 100 Day Project posts. Last night I was made aware that there are 30+ allegations of abuse by Chris that have been made public. I’ve read the public statement and spoken directly with someone who is closer to the situation.

I believe these women. The pattern of abuse described is classic and reminiscent of similar abuses of power I have closely witnessed and/or been subject to in religious non-profit settings. Further, I know we have survivors of all kinds of abuse in our Enneagram community here in Shreveport-Bossier and beyond.

So we will no longer be studying this book together, and I will no longer promote Chris’s work in any way. I’m sorry for recommending a teacher who has caused this sort of harm to so many. I didn’t know, but now I do. And I thought it was important for you to know as well.
